本作品是「連體嬰共生計畫」偽科幻之前期研究成果。

「科幻」是帶有科學理論的幻境，而本計劃之研究方法「偽科幻」是利用真實動物界的「連體雙胞胎」案例，以及被證實的科學理論，但使用人類用來大量虛擬化的數位工具，而大膽推論一個不存在的生物科技技術。作品將散發無用「科學＋藝術」的研究成果，它也許預視了生物圈之未知性，或甚只是獲得更多的幻境。

這計畫的前期藉由調查、研究、收集真實的「連體雙胞胎」個案與歷史，而發展出「In Vitro」作品。In Vitro拉丁文意指「在玻璃中」，也是現今所常說的體外授精之意。作品將呈現「試管連體雙胞胎」之研究，也就是擬仿生殖技術而培養出連體雞、連體貓等的科學研究。（人類不會利用人工科技去發展出人為不正常畸胎的技術）

展覽現場將「忠實」呈現獸醫學研究的文件、資料、圖片、影片和實體標本，以及研究室一隅。

※「連體嬰共生計畫」之重點在於藉由另一科學學科（獸醫學）的介入，產生獸醫學-藝術共生之新創造性實驗。所以「連體嬰」意及對連體動物之科學研究，而「共生」則隱含雙學科的交互作用。 藝術創作者在此計畫中將不再是創作的唯一主體，藝術行為之發生將與獸醫學家就觀念、媒材、媒體、動物行為之研究等，成連體共生關係的具體實踐。計畫中將蘊含出「多樣性」與「組織連結」的特質，讓整體突現出一革新的、獨特的藝術創作過程，與發展出更多藝術創作的新可能性。

This Work is the Result of Preliminary Research for the Pseudo-Science Fiction "Siamese Twin Symbiosis Project"

"Science fiction" is fantasy containing science. This project's research method of "pseudo-science fiction" consists of using real cases of conjoined twins from the animal world, along with proven scientific theory, while also using digital tools capable of creating large-scale virtual reality, and boldly inferring biotechnology that does not exist. The work will take the form of an impractical research result combining "science and art." It is perhaps a preview of the unknowable nature of the living world, or of even more fantasy to come.

The preliminary stage of this project has involved the use of survey, collection, and study of real Siamese twin cases and their history to develop the "In Vitro" work. The Latin meaning of in vitro is "in glass," and the phrase is commonly used in "in vitro insemination." This work presents the results of research on "test tube Siamese twins," while also speculating on research using reproductive technology to produce Siamese twin chickens and Siamese twin cats, etc. (since humans would not develop technology to producing artificially deformed embryos).

The exhibition area will "faithfully" present veterinary research documents, data, illustrations, photographs, physical specimens, and one corner of a research laboratory.

* The "Siamese Twin Symbiosis Project" places emphasis on the use of another field of science (veterinary medicine) to produce a new creative experiment featuring the symbiosis of veterinary medicine and art. Therefore, "Siamese twin" suggests science research on conjoined twin animals, while "symbiosis" implies the interactive effect between the two fields of study.

The artist will no longer be the sole creative subject in this project. The act of creating art will produce a concrete realization of a conjoined symbiotic relationship with veterinarians' research concerning ideas, media, and animal behavior. The project will be imbued with the qualities of "diversity" and "organizational linkage," enabling the whole to manifest a novel, unique artistic process, while developing even greater new possibilities for artistic creativity.
