An Owl in Time Differences

在夜晚打瞌睡，似乎是正常人的表現，但在不同的動物間有很大的差異。例如習慣在夜間覓食活動的貓頭應，當牠們患了「時差病」時，就有可能在夜晚打起瞌睡。「時差病」是對抗節律行為模式（rhythmic behavior pattern）的挫敗行為，也是生物移居異地的內在生物時鐘反應。這個作品藉由藝術家與貓頭鹰的對話，從一連串時間與空間之間的多重詭辯開始，開展了相異文化歷史與不同物種之間，一條永遠無法平行的矛盾狀態。 於是作品中有關領土的想像界線，從國界開始…橫跨了許多人類文明所界定出來的範疇，不管是有形，還是無形，它們的確並存著容納和排斥的力量。而對於生態保育，生活在這塊土地上，不同理念和作法所交織出來的無形領土，確實界線多…且紛雜！

Sleeping at night time seems to be normal human behavior, but could be very different from an animals’. For example: owls are used to hunting and being active at night time, but if they have got ‘Jet lag’, they might start nodding off and falling asleep at night time. ‘Jet lag’ is the failure of the body to change from its own routine（rhythmic behavior pattern）, a kind of body time pattern response to creatures moving to an alien place. This work consists of a dialog between the artist and an owl. A series of paradoxes involving time and space lead into a state of contradiction where different cultural histories and different species can never be made parallel.

Imaginary boundaries range from national borders to the boundaries between categories established by human civilizations. These visible and invisible boundaries have the power both to include and expel. For ecological conservation: Indeed, live on this land. These concepts and methods have created intangible territories with many complex boundaries!
